Today, Chris Brown is heading back into court for a probation hearing concerning the domestic assault that took place back in 2009 between him and his then girlfriend, Rihanna. The judge in Brown’s probation hearing had previously pushed back the court date in order to review his mandatory community service work hours.
As Chris heads to hear his judgment, ex-girlfriend Rihanna ironically sent him a special message via Twitter, wishing him well.
Chris soon responded, saying:
Perhaps it isn’t too ironic that Rihanna wishes Chris well seeing that she recently admitted to Oprah that she still loved him during an interview on an episode of “Oprah’s Next Chapter” that aired last month. Also, it is likely that things will work out in Chris’ favor though the prosecutor in the case questions how many service hours he actually completed.
Chris Brown newest tattoo seems to be causing a frenzy. He has a woman with a blackened eye, tattooed on the side of his neck. It seems as though the tattoo may be a homage to his ex-girlfriend Rihanna, but Chris reps are claiming that it’s not.
Over the course of the past year, Chis and his mother have been volunteering at the Jenesse Center, which a domestic violence prevention center in Los Angeles. The tattoo may not be a direct homage to Rihanna, but a homage to domestic violence in general.

Domestic violence charities have criticized Rihanna for saying that she is still in love with Chris Brown — who was charged with assaulting her three years ago. In an interview with Oprah’s Next Chapter, Rihanna said about Chris, “We’ve been working on our friendship again. Now we’re very very close friends. We built a trust again. We love each other and probably always will… I’m single but we’ve maintained a very close friendship.” She continued, “I think he was the love of my life. He was the first love. I see that he loved me the same way. We were very young and very spontaneous. We ran free; we ran wild. We were falling in love and going at a really rapid pace that we forgot about ourselves.”
Vivienne Hayes, chief executive of the Women’s Resource Center said about Rihanna’s interview, “Rihanna’s case demonstrates the emotional complexities felt by women locked in abusive relationships. It is common for victims to blame themselves for violence perpetrated by their male partners. Whatever the nature of the argument, [Brown] chose to beat her up. He has to accept responsibility for that choice. And we need to stop society allowing us to normalize such behavior.”
In her upcoming interview with Oprah, which airs this Sunday, Rihanna opens up about her relationship with Chris Brown and where their relationship currently stands.
She also became very emotional while telling Oprah that, although she was very hurt by what happened, she felt like she needed to protect him because everyone was treating him like a ‘monster’. :
I lost my best friend, like everything I knew switched in a night. I couldn’t control that and I had to deal with that so it wasn’t easy for me to understand or interpret. And it’s not easy to interpret on camera with the world watching. So it’s hard for me to pay attention to my mind and figuring things out because now it became a circus and I felt protective. I felt like the only person that they hate right now is him and it was a weird confusing space to be in. Cause’ As angry as I was, as hurt and betrayed, I felt that he made that mistake because he needed help. Who’s going to help him? Nobody is going to say, ‘he needs help’. Everyone is going to say he’s a monster without looking at the source. I was more concerned about him.
According to Hollywood Life, Chris has already seen the video:
Chris saw the video clip. Of course he saw it, how do you think he feels? He feels horrible he did that. Watching [Rihanna’s interview with Oprah] made him realize he made a big mistake and he’s been paying for it ever since. He’s working hard, in the studio, dancing, doing everything he can to rebuild his name and career and I think he has been successful in doing all that. Y’all should be talking about his road to recovery and how he’s been a man and made s–t right. He and Ri are cool, more cool than anyone will know. She forgave the [boy] the minute that s–t went down, so what that say about their relationship?”
