Coming from a rough children, Kamman K.A.M Strickland has the drive and persistence to make it in the highly competitive rap game. Rapping about personal experience, K.A.M has made a vow to stay true to himself through his music. Motivated and passionate about his craft, K.A.M is headed on the a path to greatness.

IAA: What city and state are you from?

K.A.M: I am from Saint Petersburg Florida born and raised.

IAA: What is your music background?

K.A.M: I have always had a deep love for music. I grew up listening to the sounds of great artist and musician’s from Sam Cooke, The Notorious BIG, Journey, and even rocked to the mellow sounds of Headliner from the group Arrested Development. I even wrote my first verse when I was 8 to their hit song Tennessee.  I am a very open minded listener, and I respect all kinds of music. I never thought I would be actually doing music myself, hints my rap name K.A.M which stands for (Kind A Mesmerized). I guess my everlasting love for music couldn’t wait to emerge any longer.  I’m  now on the quest to achieve not only musical, but personal success through my songs.

IAA: Why do you want to record and release your own music?

K.A.M: I feel everyone has a story to tell, especially me. I want to tell my story while making people happy and vibrant at the same time.

IAA: What are your songs about?

K.A.M: My songs are all about my life and everything I have experienced. I am very versatile. My soon to drop mix tape entitled This Is O.G. will portray all of the many styles and characters I bring out in my songs.

IAA: Who is your fan base directed towards?

K.A.M: I honestly don’t have a direct fan base.  My music is directed towards anyone who loves to dance and enjoy music.  If you listen to my lyrical content, you won’t be disappointed.

IAA: Who are your musical influences?

K.A.M: My musical influences consist of artist such as, Biggy, Nas, Arrested Development ,  NWA, Qeen, Journey, Sam Cooke, The Temptations, Lil Kee, Naughty by Nature, Tom G, LL Cool J, Jodeci, Queen Latifah. These artist made great music and stood for positive progression. I want to be known for doing the same.

IAA:  How would you describe your music to people ?

K.A.M: To the people that listen to my music I would say, “This is the music of life and nothing less. I only rap about things I actually do and have really been through. So nothing fake over here I know you’ll feel me.”

IAA:  What makes you stand out from other artist?

K.A.M: I stand out from other artist because I have many styles. I have a very tone sweet voice, and I’m more than hungry for the grind. I’m feening for it, I love a challenge.

IAA: What are some upcoming projects, you are currently working on?

K.A.M: I am currently working on my first mix tape entitled This is O.G. I am also working on a commercial beat mix tape called Just Alil Something. I’m also working on a 90’s mix tape, where I’ll rapping on my favorite tracks from the 90’s.

IAA:  What are your career goals? Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

K.A.M: My career goals are simple. I want to be financial free. I want to give back to my people and make the world a better place. Also, being a history major in school right now, I simply just want to live on and be remembered through my music. Like anybody with a story, I just want to be heard.
