LIL WAYNE GIVES FIRST POST-HOSPITAL INTERVIEW, REVEALS HE IS EPILEPTIC
Mar 2013 29

lil-wayne-lgWeezy does his first interview since being released from the hospital after being admitted to ICU due to several sever seizures.   The rapper finally reveals the real reasons behind the seizures, his new diagnoses, and his gripe with the false rumors….

Weezy did a phone interview with DJ Fellie Fel over at Power 106 Thursday evening.  And for the first time, he spoke out in detail about all the rumors that were going around regarding his health.  He states that he has been diagnosed  with epilepsy, and is prone to seizures when feeling stressed and exhausted.

He also had some things to say about TMZ and their report about him being near-death.  Lil Wayne also spoke about the renaming of the New Orleans Hornets to the Pelicans, why he won’t be going back to a Miami Heat game, and dished on his new tracks off I Am Not A Human Being II.

Here are some excerpts from the interview:

On the seizures: “The bad news is I’m an epileptic. I’m prone to seizures. This isn’t my first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh seizure. I’ve had a bunch of seizures, ya’ll just never hear about them. But this time it got real bad ’cause I had three of them in a row and on the third one, my heart rate went down to like 30 percent. Basically, I could’ve died, so that is why it was so serious….But the reason being for the seizures is just plain stress, no rest, overworking myself. That’s just typical me though.”

On his past health issues: “I have people around me. I actually have [the seizures] so much they already know what to do. They already know how to handle it. Certain times I don’t even go to the hospital, but this time, it was real bad because it was three in a row, and I’ve never had three back to back like that.  The third one was so bad and I live in the hills in L.A. So the reason why it was bad was that I live all the way at the top, so you know how hard it is getting down those hills. That was what was so scary about it.”

On TMZ’s report that he nearly died: “That’s what they do. I can’t be upset at that. I get upset at my kids when they do things that I tell them not to do. I can’t be upset at TMZ for doing what they do. They gon’ probably come out tomorrow and say something else about somebody else that ain’t true. That’s what they do. The truth isn’t good enough for them, so they gotta twist everything up.”

Feb 2013 28

lilwayne-pitbullLil Wayne has responded to Pitbull‘s “Harlem Shake” diss towards him. As previously reported, Wayne dissed the Miami Heat a few weeks back during All Star Weekend in Houston. Several Miami rappers like Uncle Luke, Trick Daddy and Pitbull took offense — and that’s when Pitbull released his freestyle, spitting, “You got money, yeah that’s sweet / But we all know Slim and Baby really eat / You talk Miami, yes you talkin’ Heat / Moral of the story, don’t sh*t where you eat.”

Wayne responded via Twitter, writing, “Dam pit bull bro I thought u was kool.” Pitbull responded, “@LilTunechi I am cool papo but imagine me shitting on anything new orleans which I was just there for super bowl the big easy I loved it. the world shows me love and vice versa but miami is all I got no disrespect just the truth.”

  • Last week, Wayne apologized to the city of Miami. He said, “I really want to get out there is that I do apologize for the misunderstanding to the city of Miami. I love everyone here, it’s just I’m passionate about sports and I felt very disrespected, that’s all. I felt very, very disrespected.”
